Defendant
4 cases as defendant.
Company overview. LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. ("LGEUS," commonly branded LG Electronics USA) is the North American sales, marketing and support subsidiary of LG Electronics, Inc., headquartered at 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. It was established in 1978 as the parent's U.S. electronics arm (a Delaware corporation active in U.S. state registries since 1994) and absorbed the separate U.S. mobile sales entity, LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., in 2018. The parent, LG Electronics, Inc., is publicly traded on the Korea Exchange (066570) and is the flagship electronics company of the LG Corp. chaebol. LG Electronics reported record consolidated revenue of KRW 87.7 trillion (~$60B) for 2024 per its results disclosure, with headcount commonly cited at roughly 34,000–36,000; LGEUS-level revenue is not separately disclosed and third-party estimates vary widely.
Products / operations. LGEUS is an operating company. In the U.S. it sells and supports home appliances (refrigerators, washers/dryers, ranges, dishwashers, air purifiers, vacuums), home entertainment products (OLED/QNED televisions, audio, monitors, laptops), commercial displays and digital signage, HVAC and air-conditioning systems, energy solutions, and vehicle components. LG Electronics exited the smartphone business in April 2021. U.S. manufacturing includes an appliance plant in Tennessee and HVAC production in Alabama.
Patent-litigation posture. The tracked data show one case, as defendant, and zero as plaintiff — the profile of an operating company being sued rather than an entity asserting patents. The single suit was filed in the District of Delaware, not in a plaintiff-friendly Texas venue.
Notable case. Delaware Display Group LLC et al. v. LG Electronics, Inc. et al., D. Del., filed Dec. 31, 2013. Delaware Display Group, an Acacia Research subsidiary, asserted acquired LCD/backlight patents from the Jeffery R. Parker "Light emitting panel assemblies" family against makers of LCD-bearing phones, TVs, laptops and tablets. LG responded with inter partes reviews (IPR2015‑00487, ‑00489, ‑00506), and RPX reported a follow-on Delaware complaint against LG in December 2015.
