Company profile

SportsCastr Inc. (d/b/a PANDA Interactive) is a private, venture-backed sports technology company. Founded in 2016 (platform publicly launched 2017) and originally based in New York, it is now headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada (1810 E. Sahara Ave., Suite 390) and registered in Delaware. It is led by founder/CEO Kevin April. Investors include the NFL Players Association (minority stake), SGI Merchant Banking, IdeaQuest, and New Alchemy; CNBC reported roughly $3 million raised by late 2018. Public sources indicate a small operation — Tracxn lists about 10 employees (2024) and Crunchbase classifies it among SaaS companies with under $10M revenue; exact figures are undisclosed.

Products/services. SportsCastr began as a consumer live-streaming app letting fans, athletes, and journalists broadcast sports commentary with real-time score graphics and stats, and it has been an official NFLPA licensee since 2018. It has since pivoted to B2B "Watch & Bet" software for sportsbooks, leagues, and media: PANDA Studio, an enterprise-grade platform pairing live video with in-stream betting and commerce; PANDA CUB, an AdTech tool that enriches betting-related articles with real-time odds and affiliate links; and SocketVision, its patented data-overlay technology that synchronizes live data (e.g., betting odds) with video over a separate communications channel. The company is a licensed online sports-betting vendor/supplier in more than half a dozen states.

Litigation posture. SportsCastr is an operating company engaged in two-way patent litigation — not an NPE. It appears as plaintiff in 2 tracked cases and defendant in 2 (both PTAB inter partes review petitions). In October 2023 it sued Genius Sports Ltd. and Sportradar Group AG in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division (Nos. 2:23-cv-00471/00472, before Judge Rodney Gilstrap), alleging infringement of its interactive-streaming patents (U.S. 10,425,697; 10,805,687; 11,039,218; later adding 11,871,088), and amended in 2025 to add Sherman Act and Texas antitrust claims. The defendants counterclaimed and filed the IPR petitions (Genius Sports, Aug. 2024; Sportradar, Dec. 2024). The E.D. Tex. venue is a historically plaintiff-friendly forum.

Notable context. The suits target two of the largest sports-data and betting-infrastructure providers; Genius Sports' SEC filings describe the litigation as ongoing. In February 2026, SportsCastr/PANDA and Sportradar jointly sought a 30-day stay — ahead of a trial set for Feb. 27, 2026 — to finalize a settlement, indicating the dispute was heading toward resolution.
