Products / services / operations. UTStarcom is an operating telecom-infrastructure vendor, not an NPE. It sells IP-based carrier equipment and related services, organized in two segments: Equipment (broadband access products, packet optical transport for mobile backhaul and metro aggregation, wireless/fixed-line access, Wi-Fi data offload, and a carrier-grade SDN platform) and Services (support for equipment plus operational-support projects). Historically it was best known for Personal Handy-phone System (PHS/"Xiaolingtong") handsets and, in the mid-2000s, CDMA handsets following its 2004 Audiovox Communications acquisition.
