Company profile

Company Profile: Rising Pharma Holdings, Inc.

Company overview. Rising Pharma Holdings, Inc., doing business as Rising Pharmaceuticals, is a privately held U.S. generic-pharmaceutical company headquartered at 2 Tower Center Blvd., East Brunswick, New Jersey. The Delaware corporation was organized in 2019 (PitchBook lists the business's founding year as 1990). It is a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital, which consolidated Rising Pharma Holdings and Casper Pharma into "Rising Pharmaceuticals" in December 2021 through its investment vehicle Raisin Aggregator, L.P.; Indian drugmaker Suven Pharmaceuticals (now Cohance Lifesciences) previously held ~25% of Rising and retains a minority stake in Raisin Aggregator. PitchBook reports roughly 330 employees (2025) and about $437M raised in private-equity/debt financing; Suven disclosed Rising's FY2020 turnover at ~$329M.

Products / services. Rising develops, markets, and distributes generic and specialty-branded prescription and OTC pharmaceuticals for the U.S. market across cardiovascular, GI, dermatologic, and other therapeutic areas — over 180 commercialized generic products and 620+ SKUs, per company statements. It outsources much manufacturing to CMO/CDO partners and opened a sterile injectables and ophthalmics plant in Decatur, Illinois (2023), adding in-house production. It also maintains an ANDA pipeline and has acquired product lines from Akorn, Endo, Citron Pharma, and PACK Pharmaceuticals.

Litigation posture. Rising is an operating company, not an NPE: it has zero tracked plaintiff cases and one tracked defendant case. The suit is a classic Hatch-Waxman ANDA dispute brought by a branded manufacturer — Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation v. HEC Pharm Co., Ltd. et al. (D. Del., filed Jan. 28, 2020, consolidated with 1:23-cv-00026), where Rising was named alongside HEC Pharm, Sunshine Lake, and CANDA HEC-1.

Notable context. Novartis alleges the defendants' generic fingolimod capsules (Gilenya®/multiple sclerosis; ANDA No. 207939) infringe U.S. Patent No. 10,543,179 (an S1P-receptor-modulator dosing regimen). Rising admitted it marketed and sold HEC's ANDA product in the U.S., filed defenses of non-infringement and invalidity, and counterclaimed — a typical commercial-partner role for a generic distributor. Venue lies in Delaware partly because Rising is incorporated there.
