Monté T. Squire

Monté T. Squire is a patent litigation attorney with extensive experience representing and advising corporations in intellectual property and commercial disputes, primarily focusing on patent infringement cases in the District of Delaware. His practice spans a diverse array of complex technologies, including computer software, Internet technology, biomedical devices, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor technology, aeronautical equipment, and mobile navigation technology.

Currently a partner at Duane Morris LLP in Wilmington, Delaware, Mr. Squire has primarily represented defendant-side interests in tracked patent litigation matters, including serving as local counsel for TomTom, Inc. in Blackbird Tech LLC v. TomTom, Inc. Prior to joining Duane Morris in June 2021, he held a significant role as an Administrative Patent Judge and member of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 2015 to 2021. In this capacity, he presided over numerous patent trial proceedings and appeals, including inter partes review (IPR) and related proceedings, giving him substantial insight into PTAB practice. Before his tenure at the USPTO, he practiced intellectual property litigation at Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor.

Mr. Squire earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1995, an M.B.A. with high honors from Wilmington College in 1999, and his J.D. cum laude from Widener University School of Law in 2005. He is admitted to practice in Delaware and New Jersey.
