Kfir Levy

Kfir Levy is a seasoned patent litigation attorney and Partner in Mayer Brown's Washington D.C. office, specializing in intellectual property disputes across a broad spectrum of high-technology and life sciences fields. His practice encompasses federal court litigation at both trial and appellate levels, arbitrations, and Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Levy handles cases involving diverse technologies such as consumer electronics, wireless charging systems, telecommunications, LCD, OLED, and plasma display panels, pharmaceuticals, network communications, memory devices, and lighting products. He also advises clients on patent portfolio analysis, freedom-to-operate, and pre-litigation diligence.

Levy represents both plaintiffs and defendants in patent matters, reflecting a balanced practice. While tracked appearances include defense work for LG Electronics in Delaware Display Group LLC et al. v. LG Electronics Inc., his broader experience at Mayer Brown includes representing complainants such as Powermat Technologies in wireless charging patent enforcement and Maxell, Ltd. in numerous patent assertion campaigns involving smart televisions and related products against companies like TCL, VIZIO, Hisense, Lenovo, and Apple. He also secured a significant jury verdict for Pantech Corporation and Pantech Wireless, LLC in patent litigation.

He is actively involved in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, having appeared as counsel for patent owners in Inter Partes Review (IPR) cases, including IPR2022-00930, IPR2024-00995, and IPR2024-00996, with the latter two concluding in a settlement in principle.

Levy is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and California. He earned his B.A. from Kenyon College and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he served as Managing Editor of the Nevada Law Journal. He further honed his legal acumen through a clerkship with the Honorable Procter Hug, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
