Jung Hahm

Jung Hahm serves as Senior Patent Counsel, in-house, at Unified Patents, specializing in challenging asserted patents through post-grant review proceedings. His practice is predominantly focused on preparing and litigating Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) patent review proceedings.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hahm has primarily represented the petitioner side in PTAB actions, aligning with Unified Patents' mission to deter patent abuse. His work often involves strategic challenges to patents asserted by Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs). While his focus areas are broad, covering technologies consistent with Unified Patents' operations, his prior experience includes advising a multinational consumer electronics company on U.S. patent law, licensing negotiations, and technical analyses. Notable tracked cases include Unified Patents Inc. v. Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Unified Patents LLC v. Smart Speaker LLC.

Prior to joining Unified Patents, Mr. Hahm practiced at Amster, Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP for over 16 years, where his work encompassed PTAB trial practice, patent litigation, patent preparation and prosecution, as well as patent portfolio management and licensing. He is recognized for his expertise in PTAB strategy, having spoken on topics such as proving printed publication status and addressing Fintiv denials in PTAB proceedings. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Reg. No. 48,333).

Mr. Hahm earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School, an A.B. in Physics from Cornell University, and an M.S. in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
