Eric Lucas

Eric Lucas is an experienced intellectual property attorney with over 30 years dedicated to patent enforcement, strategic licensing, and litigation management across high-tech industries. His expertise spans semiconductors, wireless communications, and consumer electronics.

Mr. Lucas primarily focuses on patent monetization and enforcement. Prior to his current role, he held senior licensing and litigation positions where he directed substantial patent infringement litigation and licensing programs. Notably, at Netlist, he led litigations resulting in a $445 million jury verdict against Micron and additional jury verdicts of $303 million and $118 million against Samsung. At Acacia Research Group, he spearheaded licensing efforts that generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

Currently, Eric Lucas serves as the President of VideoLabs, a leading intellectual property licensing platform, a position he assumed in February 2025. His career also includes senior licensing roles at Motorola, Alcatel-Lucent, and Boeing, and he previously served as General Counsel and Director of Intellectual Property at Cambridge Display Technology. His experience includes acting as petitioner counsel in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, such as Volex PLC v. Credo Technology Group Ltd. (IPR2025-01385 and IPR2025-01386), which involved patents related to high-speed serial links and was terminated by settlement.

Mr. Lucas earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has been licensed to practice for 36 years.
