Amanda K. Streff

Amanda K. Streff is a patent litigation attorney with a practice focused on complex intellectual property disputes, particularly within the electrical engineering, computer engineering, biomedical engineering, and mechanical engineering fields. Her experience spans technologies such as mobile devices, semiconductors, LCD panels, telecommunications, and medical devices. While her tracked district court appearances show her primarily representing defendants, she also demonstrates experience representing patent owners in litigation.

Currently a Partner at Mayer Brown, Ms. Streff has defended major technology companies in high-stakes patent infringement lawsuits. She was part of the defense team for Microsoft Corporation in Microsoft Corporation v. Corel Software, LLC, where the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah entered final judgment in Microsoft's favor, awarding no damages to Corel Software, LLC in a multi-patent dispute concerning document interface and editing technologies. She also represented LG Electronics Inc. in Delaware Display Group LLC et al. v. LG Electronics Inc., a case involving display technologies and backlight units. Additionally, she was a member of the Mayer Brown team that secured a nearly $112 million verdict for client Maxell in patent litigation against Samsung Electronics, pertaining to video and photo playback and networking technologies.

Ms. Streff possesses extensive experience in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), having served as counsel in over 175 inter partes review (IPR) proceedings. She has been recognized as a "Top Attorney" in IPR proceedings by Docket Navigator. Her PTAB work includes representing petitioners like LG Electronics, Inc. in challenges against patent validity. She has also contributed to legal commentary regarding proposed revisions and new guidance for PTAB rules.

Ms. Streff is admitted to practice in Illinois. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law in 2011, and a B.S.E. in biomedical engineering, summa cum laude, from Tulane University in 2008. While in law school, she externed for the Hon. Amy St. Eve of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
