Longitude Flash Memory Solutions, Ltd. (LFMS) is an Irish intellectual property management company and an affiliate of the U.S.-based patent monetization firm IPValue Management, Inc.. Both entities are part of the IPValue Management Group, which is owned by the private equity firm Vector Capital. LFMS operates as a non-practicing entity (NPE), also known as a patent assertion entity, and does not manufacture products or provide services. Its business is centered on licensing and asserting patent rights.

The company's operations involve monetizing a portfolio of over 500 patents acquired from Cypress Semiconductor (later purchased by Infineon Technologies). The portfolio covers fundamental technologies related to the design, manufacturing, and operation of various memory devices, including NAND flash (2D and 3D), DRAM, and SSDs. LFMS, through IPValue and affiliate Longitude Licensing Ltd., has successfully licensed this portfolio to major semiconductor companies, including SK hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Micron Technology.

Longitude Flash Memory Solutions' patent litigation posture is that of an NPE actively asserting its acquired portfolio. The tracked case data, showing one case as plaintiff and one as defendant, reflects a single, concerted enforcement action. In January 2025, LFMS and IPValue sued Western Digital in the Central District of California, alleging infringement of the ex-Cypress patents. The defendant case, filed in March 2025 by Western Digital subsidiary SanDisk in the Northern District of California, was a declaratory judgment action filed in response to the initial suit.

This litigation against Western Digital and SanDisk is the company's most notable tracked dispute. The initial suit targeted a wide array of Western Digital products containing 3D NAND flash memory. The dispute was resolved in early 2026 when IPValue announced it had granted a worldwide license to SanDisk for the LFMS portfolio, settling all outstanding litigation between the parties.
