Company profile

Local Intelligence, LLC is a patent-holding vehicle, not an operating company. No products, employees, revenue, or independent headquarters are publicly reported for it; corporate filings identify it as an affiliate of Monument Patent Holdings, LLC, a Texas entity incorporated in December 2013 and managed by executives of Dominion Harbor Group/Dominion Harbor Enterprises, LLC (David Pridham, Matthew DelGiorno, Conner Mowles, Lee Sheafe). In its Delaware case, Local Intelligence's Rule 7.1 disclosure listed Monument Patent Holdings, LLC as its corporate parent. Later coverage describes it as a Dominion Harbor affiliate. Ownership/asset status should be treated as dated, per below.

It has no operations to describe. Its sole asset class was an acquired patent portfolio: RPX reported that Local Intelligence took assignment of roughly 15 patents from TP Lab, Inc. in 2017. The asserted family — U.S. Patent Nos. 8,903,067; 9,219,982; and 9,084,084 — claims telephones that obtain a current location from a location server and automatically refresh the display with location-relevant "communication services." Named inventor is Shin Cheung Simon Chiu; priority date is estimated at June 2006. A related 12-patent emergency-caller-location family was also transferred to Local Intelligence in August 2017.

Litigation posture: pure plaintiff-side NPE. The tracked data shows 3 cases as plaintiff and 0 as defendant, consistent with an entity that licenses and asserts acquired patents rather than making or selling anything. All three tracked suits are infringement actions against smartphone makers: Local Intelligence, LLC v. Samsung (E.D. Tex.), Local Intelligence, LLC v. LG Electronics (D. Del.), and Local Intelligence, LLC v. HTC America (N.D. Cal., Judge Edward J. Davila).

Context: in the HTC case, Judge Davila denied HTC's §101 motion to dismiss in April 2018, relying on Core Wireless v. LG Electronics. The California and Texas actions ended before claim construction; the Delaware action against LG was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice in September 2018 before any response. Per 2024 reporting, Local Intelligence transferred its assets back to TP Lab in November 2019 and appears inactive since.
