Maxell asserted eight patents, including U.S. Patent No. 8,098,695, against ZTE; the '695 patent was asserted against ZTE USA only. A jury found ZTE willfully infringed seven patents, including the '695 patent, and awarded $43.3 million; the case was terminated on March 11, 2019, under a confidential settlement.
Maxell asserted ten patents, including the '794 patent, against Apple over its Low Power Mode. The '794 claims were dismissed without prejudice on March 22, 2021, and the overall case settled in March 2021.
