Company overview. Pictometry International Corp. is an aerial-imagery and measurement company founded in 2000 and historically headquartered in Henrietta/Rochester, New York. Since January 2013 it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of EagleView Technology Corp., the private parent formed by a merger-of-equals with EagleView Technologies (Bothell, WA); Pictometry consolidated under the EagleView brand in 2017. EagleView has been owned by Vista Equity Partners (majority stake, 2015) and Clearlake Capital (co-owner since 2018). Public sources cite roughly 300 employees for Pictometry and ~526 for EagleView (2018 fact sheet). Revenue is not publicly disclosed; the 2013 merger release cited combined 2012 pro forma revenue of over $100 million.
Products / operations. Pictometry pioneered georeferenced oblique aerial image capture — photos taken at an angle showing building faces as well as rooftops — and is best known for the patented Pictometry oblique camera system (the only one to receive U.S. Geological Survey certification). It operates a fleet of aircraft capturing image libraries covering most of the U.S. population, delivered through cloud platforms (PictometryOnline, CONNECT) with orthophotography, 3D models, and measurement/analytics tools. Customers are primarily state and local governments (property assessment, GIS, emergency response), plus insurance, roofing, real estate, solar, and utility sectors.
Patent-litigation posture. Pictometry is an operating company, not an NPE: it appears in two tracked cases, both as plaintiff (2–0), and both were filed jointly with parent EagleView Technologies ("Eagle View Technologies, Inc. et al.") enforcing its own imagery-measurement patent portfolio against competitors and software vendors. Neither case sits in the Eastern District of Texas; venues are the District of Utah (2021) and District of New Jersey (2015).
Notable cases. In Eagle View Technologies et al. v. Nearmap US, Inc. (D. Utah, 2021), Pictometry and EagleView asserted patents covering roof measurement, oblique imagery, and 3D reconstruction against competitor Nearmap's MapBrowser and OpenSolar products; the case was stayed and administratively closed in August 2025 pending PTAB/Federal Circuit proceedings, and EagleView announced a confidential settlement with Nearmap in May 2026. The earlier Eagle View Technologies et al. v. Xactware Solutions et al. (D.N.J., 2015) targeted a property-claims software provider in the same aerial-measurement space.
