Pictiva is an unfunded company specializing in IP licensing for OLED display systems.

Pictiva's operations center on monetizing a portfolio of over 1,000 patents related to Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology. These patents, acquired from OSRAM GmbH in 2020, cover various aspects of OLED technology, including device composition and structure, display driving circuits, and manufacturing processes. The patented inventions are applicable to a broad range of products, such as displays in smartphones, televisions, wearables, and other computing devices.

As a patent assertion entity (PAE), Pictiva's litigation posture involves asserting its acquired patent portfolio to pursue licensing through lawsuits. The company has been involved in one tracked case as a defendant before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), but actively initiates patent infringement lawsuits as a plaintiff in district courts.

Samsung has indicated it plans to appeal the verdict.
