Founded on December 16, 2013, OnePlus operates as a subsidiary of Oppo, which itself is owned by Guangdong OPlus Holdings. The company reported approximately 2,700 employees in 2019 and generates an estimated $1.9 billion in revenue.

OnePlus develops and sells a range of consumer electronics, focusing primarily on smartphones, including its flagship OnePlus series and mid-range Nord and Ace lines. Marlin Semiconductor Limited is a patent assertion entity and a subsidiary of IPValue Management, asserting a portfolio of patents acquired from United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC). The asserted patents broadly relate to semiconductor fabrication, with allegations of infringement targeting semiconductor devices fabricated using TSMC's 16nm and smaller process nodes, as well as downstream products like smartphones and tablets that incorporate these devices. An evidentiary hearing for the ITC case is scheduled for February 2, 2026.
