Fujitsu Limited (short name "Fujitsu"; TSE/Nagoya: 6702; OTC ADR: FJTSF) is a Japanese information and communications technology company founded June 20, 1935, headquartered at 4-1-1 Kamikodanaka, Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan. It is publicly listed on the Tokyo and Nagoya exchanges. Consolidated revenue for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026 was roughly ¥3.5 trillion, with about 99,000–113,000 employees worldwide depending on reporting date and consolidation scope; market capitalization is on the order of ¥6 trillion (FT/LSEG data). Ownership is dispersed among institutional holders (Nomura, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust, Vanguard, BlackRock, Norges Bank); it is not a subsidiary.
Operations. Fujitsu sells consulting, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), systems integration, business applications and middleware, BPO, managed services, data-center, network-security and in-vehicle IT services, organized around its "Uvance" portfolio. Hardware lines include PRIMERGY and PRIMEQUEST servers, ETERNUS storage, UNIX servers and mainframes, plus network products such as mobile systems, photonics/optical transmission and IP networking gear. It also builds high-performance computing (PRIMEHPC FX1000, RIKEN's Fugaku supercomputer), the Kozuchi AI platform, and is developing quantum computing with RIKEN. Its PC business (LIFEBOOK) was largely moved into a Lenovo-linked joint venture. It is an operating company, not an NPE.
Litigation posture. The tracked data show Fujitsu as a defendant in one case and a plaintiff in none — the profile of an operating company being sued rather than an active two-way litigant. The single tracked suit, FireNet Technologies, LLC v. Fujitsu Ltd. et al. (2:18-cv-00270), was filed July 5, 2018 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, before Judge Rodney Gilstrap with referral to Magistrate Judge Roy S. Payne — a venue heavily used by patent plaintiffs.
Case context. FireNet Technologies is an affiliate of Georgia monetization firm IP Investments Group (Michael W. McLaughlin) with Intellectual Ventures retaining an interest, per RPX reporting; it asserted four network-security patents obtained from IV against Fujitsu and other networking vendors. The complaint targeted Fujitsu's network security offerings, including NS Appliance/NS Options with PRIMERGY servers and ETERNUS storage. The case was stayed pending settlement and dismissed with prejudice in September 2019. Unified Patents later challenged a related FireNet patent at the PTAB.
