Fujitsu America, Inc. (FAI) is the U.S. regional arm of Fujitsu Limited, the Tokyo-based information and communications technology group listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (ticker 6702). It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, held through Fujitsu North America Holdings. FAI was organized in California in 2000 and renamed from Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation in May 2009. Public filings list a principal U.S. office at 2801/2821 Telecom Parkway in Richardson, Texas, with a mailing address at 350 Cobalt Way, Sunnyvale, California. FAI does not publish separate headcount or revenue; parent-level figures for fiscal 2025 were roughly ¥3.5 trillion in revenue with about 99,000 employees group-wide (Fujitsu corporate disclosures).
Products / services. FAI sells and supports enterprise IT, computing, and network systems in North America — servers, storage, software, and IT services/consulting for business and public-sector customers. Its product and service lines include Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers, ETERNUS storage systems, and network-security offerings such as NS Appliance and NS Options, along with SAP-related, biometrics, and infrastructure services. (Optical networking subsidiary Fujitsu Network Communications, also based in Richardson, was spun into a separate entity, 1FINITY, in 2025; that is a distinct corporate entity from FAI.)
Patent-litigation posture. The case record shows FAI purely as a defendant: 0 plaintiff suits, 1 defendant suit. This is the classic profile of an operating company defending against assertion, not an NPE. The single tracked matter was filed in the plaintiff-friendly Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, before Judge Rodney Gilstrap with referral to Magistrate Judge Roy S. Payne.
Notable case. FireNet Technologies, LLC v. Fujitsu Ltd. et al., No. 2:18-cv-00270 (E.D. Tex., filed July 5, 2018), named both Fujitsu Ltd. and Fujitsu America as defendants. FireNet is a non-practicing entity affiliated with Georgia monetization firm IP Investments Group (IPinvestments Group); reporting by RPX indicates the four asserted network-security patents came from Intellectual Ventures, which retained an interest. The complaint targeted PRIMERGY servers, ETERNUS storage, and NS Appliance/NS Options firewall functionality. The case was stayed in June 2019 pending settlement and dismissed with prejudice on September 27, 2019.
