Company profile

ARRIS Enterprises LLC is an operating subsidiary legal entity of the broadband-equipment business founded in 1995 as ARRIS Interactive (an Antec/Nortel joint venture) and later known publicly as ARRIS Group, Inc. and ARRIS International plc (formerly NASDAQ: ARRS). Its principal U.S. operations are based in Suwanee, Georgia; the entity is Delaware-organized. CommScope Holding Company, Inc. acquired ARRIS International on April 4, 2019 for roughly $7.4 billion including debt, and ARRIS Enterprises LLC's Rule 7.1 disclosure in the litigation below identifies CommScope Holding Company as its ultimate parent. ARRIS International reported about $6.7 billion of revenue and roughly 7,900 employees for the twelve months ended September 30, 2018 (per company/press reports and Investing.com). Entity-level headcount and revenue for ARRIS Enterprises LLC specifically are not publicly disclosed.

Products/operations. ARRIS designs and sells broadband access and customer-premises equipment for cable, telco and enterprise networks: DOCSIS cable modems and gateways (including the NVG468MQ gateway and SURFboard retail modems), set-top boxes and video gateways, video processing/ad-insertion systems, CMTS/CCAP and PON access platforms (e.g., the CommScope XP6164S FLX OLT), and Wi-Fi access points and controllers (Ruckus). It is not an NPE.

Litigation posture. In the tracked data ARRIS Enterprises LLC appears once, as a defendant, and never as plaintiff — the profile of an operating company defending, not asserting. That case was filed in the plaintiff-friendly Eastern District of Texas before Judge Rodney Gilstrap.

Notable case. CommWorks Solutions, LLC v. CommScope Holding Co., Inc. et al., No. 2:23-cv-00510 (E.D. Tex., filed Nov. 3, 2023), named ARRIS Enterprises LLC alongside six CommScope/ARRIS affiliates. Plaintiff CommWorks Solutions, LLC is a patent assertion entity — a Brainbox Innovations, LLC subsidiary whose patents were transferred from Intellectual Ventures' Invention Investment Fund entities (IPWatchdog; RPX flags the case "NPE"). It asserted seven optical-access-network and Wi-Fi-provisioning patents against the OLT and gateway products; the parties jointly dismissed all claims with prejudice. Other CommScope/ARRIS entities have separately been sued by NPEs including TQ Delta, SIPCO, Cobblestone Wireless and Bell Northern Research.

Ownership note. CommScope has since divested heavily — Home Networks to Vantiva (2024), Connectivity & Cable Solutions to Amphenol, and rebranded as Vistance Networks in January 2026. The post-divestiture placement of the legacy ARRIS legal entities is not publicly confirmed.
