Yue (Joy) Wang

Yue (Joy) Wang is a patent litigator at Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg LLP, bringing nearly a decade of experience to complex intellectual property disputes. Her practice encompasses a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, semiconductors, optoelectronic sensors, graphics cards, and software, a breadth informed by her background in chemical engineering. Ms. Wang is also proficient in patent prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, handling office action responses, appeal briefs, and patent applications.

Ms. Wang maintains an active practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement actions. While her tracked appearances show a slight lean towards plaintiff-side representation, including as lead counsel in five matters, she also has experience defending clients. Among her notable engagements, Ms. Wang represents CardWare, Inc. in several patent litigations and related post-grant proceedings concerning Near-Field Communication (NFC) payment technology against major technology companies such as Samsung, Google, and Apple. She also successfully represented the GNOME Foundation pro bono, securing a dismissal and favorable settlement that created a release and covenant protecting open-source software from patent infringement claims. Additionally, Ms. Wang has obtained favorable settlements for clients like Price f(x) in competitor litigations involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. Her experience extends to inter partes review (IPR) and other post-grant proceedings, particularly in connection with her representation of CardWare Inc., which has faced IPR challenges from entities like Google and Apple.

Ms. Wang earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2014, and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, awarded in 2008. She is admitted to the California Bar and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Ninth Circuit.
