Pratibha Khanduri

Pratibha Khanduri, Ph.D., is Counsel in the Biotechnology & Chemical Practice Group at Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, where her practice is concentrated on patent litigation, procurement, exploitation, and enforcement within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. Her technical expertise encompasses molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, immunology, biologics, and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Khanduri's work includes patentability, validity, and infringement analyses, as well as matters involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Dr. Khanduri primarily works on the defense side of patent litigation, as evidenced by her role as back-up counsel for the defendant Halozyme Inc. in the case Unified Patents v. Halozyme Inc. Halozyme is a biotechnology company specializing in hyaluronidase technology, aligning with Dr. Khanduri's strong technical background.

Her experience extends to post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the USPTO. Dr. Khanduri has been involved in reexamination proceedings and has contributed to discussions and publications on PTAB practice and strategies, including moderating sessions on PTAB procedural developments and co-authoring articles on PTAB insights.

Dr. Khanduri holds a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an M.S. in Biotechnology, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Human Biology with a Biochemistry major from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. She is admitted to practice, supporting her role in U.S. patent litigation.
