Li Zheng

Li Zheng is a Director in the Intellectual Property Practice Group at Duane Morris & Selvam LLP, based in the firm's Shanghai office, a position he assumed in May 2024. His practice is dedicated to U.S. patent law, encompassing patent prosecution, patent litigation, and patent invalidation. Dr. Zheng brings a robust technical background with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and is a named inventor on U.S. patents related to wireless communications, which informs his focus on technologies such as RF chips, semiconductors, and wireless front-end modules, as evidenced by his case work. Notably, he was part of the Duane Morris & Selvam team that successfully defended Grand Chip Labs Inc. and Kangxi Communication Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Skyworks Solutions, Inc. et al. v. Grand Chip Labs Inc. et al., leading to an ITC Initial Determination of no infringement and Skyworks' subsequent withdrawal of all claims in both the ITC and related district court proceedings. In a related action, Kangxi Communication Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. v. Skyworks Solutions Inc., he also appeared on the plaintiff side. His experience includes managing patent portfolios and providing legal opinions for a range of clients from startups to multinational corporations.

He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2011 and a Juris Doctor (J.D.), cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2017.
