Kyle Konz

Kyle Konz is a patent litigation attorney at Brooks Kushman, focusing his practice on patent prosecution, post-grant proceedings, and patent and trademark litigation. His technical expertise spans automotive, manufacturing, domestic appliances, and heating and cooling systems, informed by his background in civil engineering and as a certified auto mechanic. A significant portion of his current litigation and post-grant work involves vehicle safety systems, connectivity, connected services, lighting, and exercise equipment.

In his litigation practice, Mr. Konz primarily defends operating companies, particularly in the automotive sector. His experience includes representing Ford Motor Company as defendant's counsel in cases such as Ethanol Boosting Systems, LLC et al. v. Ford Motor Company. Notably, he served as litigation and PTAB counsel for Ford in Safe Driving Technologies, LLC v. Ford Motor Company, where the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) ultimately held 43 asserted claims unpatentable following Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs) filed under Brooks Kushman's direction.
