Joshua Scheufler

Joshua Scheufler is a patent litigation attorney with a practice primarily focused on complex intellectual property disputes, particularly representing plaintiffs. His experience spans a range of high-technology areas, including semiconductor processing, power management, multi-core processor operational logic, telecommunications, speech recognition, consumer electronics, user interfaces, machine learning, and medical devices. He has also handled matters involving technical standards such as 3GPP for Mobile Broadband and EMV standards for contactless payment.

Scheufler currently practices as an associate at Russ August & Kabat, a firm recognized for its patent litigation practice. Prior to joining Russ August & Kabat, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Roy S. Payne. He previously gained experience at Quinn Emanuel and then Bunsow De Mory. All five of his tracked patent litigation appearances have been on the plaintiff side, predominantly representing Redstone Logics LLC.

NXP Semiconductors, N.V. et al., Redstone Logics LLC v. MediaTek, Inc. et al., Redstone Logics LLC v. Qualcomm Incorporated et al., and Redstone Logics LLC v. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. The Redstone Logics LLC v. NXP Semiconductors case, asserting a patent related to multicore processor power management, was resolved in May 2025 through a stipulated dismissal where Redstone's claims were dismissed with prejudice.

Scheufler possesses experience in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, including inter partes review (IPR) and ex parte reexamination, representing clients on both sides. In one instance, his client Redstone Logics LLC successfully defended against an IPR petition (IPR2025-00485) filed by NXP USA, Inc. et al., which was denied institution in July 2025. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, cum laude, from the University of Houston. He is licensed to practice in Texas.
