Jeffrey A. Berkowitz is a seasoned patent litigation attorney and a partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner. His practice primarily focuses on adversarial proceedings involving patents in the computer, telecommunications, software, electrical, and electronics fields. He also handles business method inventions and matters concerning artificial intelligence (AI) and trade secrets. Berkowitz is recognized for his "brilliant technical understanding" and extensive experience in coordinating complex, worldwide patent disputes.

Berkowitz demonstrates a balanced practice, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation, with two tracked appearances showing one on the plaintiff side and one on the defendant side. Berkowitz possesses extensive experience in PTAB and IPR proceedings, coordinating parallel litigation across district courts and the PTAB. He has served as a co-chairman and moderator for panels on effective strategies for litigation and post-grant reviews. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the bars of Virginia, the District of Columbia, New York, and New Jersey, among other federal courts.
