Heng Gong

Heng Gong is a trial lawyer specializing in patent and intellectual property disputes, with a practice spanning a wide range of technologies. His technical focus areas include OLED display technology, taurine-manufacturing, swab-manufacturing, cellular communication, battery packaging, and casino terminal technology, as well as broader experience in semiconductors, optics, communications, software, security, computer architecture, and biotechnology. A native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, Mr. Gong possesses extensive experience in cross-border intellectual property disputes, particularly those involving Asia-based technology companies such as Samsung, Hisense, Huawei, and SK Innovation.

Mr. Gong has significant experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation, with an equal number of appearances on each side in tracked cases. He is currently a Partner at Blue Peak Law Group, and prior to joining Blue Peak, he served as special counsel at Covington & Burling LLP.

His notable representative matters include defending Samsung Display in a patent case concerning OLED display technology (Inv. No. 337-TA-1351) and Glanbia in a patent case related to taurine-manufacturing technology (Vitaworks v. Glanbia Nutritionals (NA), Inc., D. Del.). He has also represented Huawei in a patent case involving cellular communication technology (Optis Wireless Tech. v. Huawei Device USA, Inc., E.D. Tex.) and SK Innovation in patent and trade secret cases concerning battery technologies. Mr. Gong has extensive experience litigating in District Courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and at the International Trade Commission (ITC). He was also involved in a pro hac vice admission for Dialect, LLC against Google, LLC in the Northern District of California.

Mr. Gong earned his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He also holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Tsinghua University. He was admitted to practice as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in New York on May 23, 2011.
