Garrett C. Parish

Garrett C. Parish is a patent litigation attorney with a practice primarily focused on representing plaintiffs in intellectual property disputes. Currently a Partner at Miller Fair Henry, he frequently serves as local counsel in high-stakes patent litigation, particularly in the Eastern District of Texas. His technical focus areas, derived from his case involvement, include content delivery networks (CDNs), wireless communications, mobile device technologies, intelligent data policy management, and wireless sensors and controllers. Parish has also practiced with Robins Kaplan, where he represented clients in cases involving patent infringement.

Parish demonstrates a strong preference for the plaintiff side, with 8 of his 10 tracked appearances representing patent holders, in contrast to 2 defendant-side appearances. This aligns with Miller Fair Henry's reputation for assisting lead plaintiffs' counsel in securing significant verdicts for technology firms.

Among his notable patent litigation engagements, Parish was part of the Miller Fair Henry team that assisted in securing a $175 million jury verdict for Headwater Research LLC against Verizon Communications Inc. for infringement of wireless communications patents in July 2025, a case that later settled. He also, alongside Andrea Fair, obtained an $11.5 million jury verdict for Ollnova Technologies Ltd. against ecobee Technologies concerning wireless sensors and controllers in October 2023, which is currently under appeal. Parish has represented Sandpiper CDN, LLC in a patent infringement case against Microsoft Corp. involving content delivery infrastructure, and appeared for Longitude Licensing Limited in a patent infringement suit against Lenovo Group Limited.

Parish's experience extends to post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He has appeared in proceedings styled "Petitioner v. Sandpiper Cdn LLC," representing the patent owner (Sandpiper CDN, LLC), whose patents, relating to CDN caching methods, were challenged. His previous firm, Robins Kaplan, also advises clients on challenging patent validity at the PTAB.

Garrett C. Parish earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2021, where he served as Associate Managing Editor of the SMU Law Review Association. He holds a B.S. in Construction Science, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University (2018). He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2021 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Texas.
