Eugene Y. Mar

Eugene Y. Mar is an accomplished patent litigator specializing in complex technology disputes for corporate defendants. Currently a Partner and Firm Counsel at Farella Braun + Martel LLP, he focuses his practice on patent infringement, trade secret, copyright, and licensing matters. His expertise spans a broad range of technologies, including computer and server systems, computer memory, semiconductors, cybersecurity, mobile and software security systems, software architecture, automotive technologies, and communication protocols. Mar's practice primarily involves defending technology companies, with all three of his tracked appearances being on the defendant side, including significant representations for clients such as Dell Technologies Inc. and Google LLC.

Mar has achieved notable outcomes for his clients, including securing a complete defense verdict for Google LLC from a Texas federal jury in a patent infringement case involving Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max devices. He also successfully defended Adobe Systems in a five-patent case, obtaining a venue transfer from the Eastern District of Texas to the Northern District of California, followed by a judgment of non-infringement.
