Emily J. Tremblay

Emily J. Tremblay is a patent trial lawyer at Robins Kaplan LLP, with over a decade of experience litigating complex patent issues in U.S. courts. Her practice spans a broad range of technologies, including computing, display, semiconductor, video, pharmaceutical, medical device, and mechanical industries. Tremblay represents both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation, demonstrating a versatile approach to intellectual property disputes.

A significant outcome in her career includes second-chairing the trial in Longitude Licensing Ltd. v. BOE Technology Group Co. Ltd. in the Eastern District of Texas, where she helped secure a $66.9 million jury verdict for plaintiffs Longitude Licensing Ltd. and 138 East LCD Advancements Ltd. The verdict found BOE Technology Group Co. liable for willful infringement of three LCD display patents related to technology used in consumer electronics. She has also served as lead defense counsel for BioDelivery Sciences Int'l, Inc. (BDSI) in two patent litigations, achieving a favorable settlement after developing strategic patent infringement defenses.

Tremblay is experienced in patent office proceedings, including appearances before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), as evidenced by her work in the BDSI litigations which involved multiple PTAB proceedings. She earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2012 and a B.A. summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in 2010. She has been licensed in Minnesota since 2013.
