Elizabeth L. Brann

Elizabeth L. Brann is a highly accomplished patent litigator and a partner in the Litigation department at Paul Hastings LLP, based in their San Diego and Palo Alto offices. Her practice primarily focuses on navigating complex patent disputes for major technology and life sciences companies.

Brann's technical expertise spans computer hardware and software, medical devices, telecommunications, semiconductors, and consumer electronics, informed by her background in electrical and biomedical engineering. While the tracked appearances indicate a defense-side focus, her notable representations demonstrate experience for both patent holders and accused infringers. She notably secured a $51 million settlement for Align Technology in a 14-year patent infringement battle against ClearCorrect, spanning district court, the Federal Circuit, and the International Trade Commission. Brann has also represented Samsung Electronics, securing a stipulation of non-infringement and invalidity in Ironworks v. Samsung, and currently defends Google in multiple patent infringement cases brought by Uniloc 2017 LLC.
