Chris M. Katsantonis

Chris M. Katsantonis is a trial attorney and registered patent agent at DLA Piper, focusing his practice on intellectual property litigation. He has extensive experience across a diverse range of technologies, including biometric, wireless communication protocol, semiconductor, digital camera processing, memory storage, distributed network, battery, and in-vehicle entertainment systems. This technical breadth underpins his work in complex patent disputes.

Katsantonis primarily represents defendants in patent litigation, as evidenced by his role as lead counsel for Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Redstone Logics LLC v. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. His practice encompasses district court litigation and Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Prior to joining DLA Piper, he worked at a general practice law firm in Philadelphia, PA, handling various IP matters. He also completed a secondment as in-house counsel for Panasonic, where he advised on IP portfolio and litigation management.

He is also active in post-grant proceedings, with experience in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Notably, he is listed as counsel for the Petitioner in at least one IPR proceeding (IPR2025-01309, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. AND SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC. v. BRUNDIDGE & STANGER, P.C.).

He earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 2020, and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, obtained in 2017.
