Alan S. Teran

Alan S. Teran, Ph.D., is an Associate in the Litigation Department and Intellectual Property Group at Proskauer Rose LLP. His practice primarily involves patent litigation and worldwide patent portfolio development. Dr. Teran tends to represent plaintiffs, as evidenced by three plaintiff-side appearances compared to one defendant-side appearance in tracked cases, consistently on behalf of Haemonetics Corporation.

Dr. Teran's practice focuses on diverse technology areas, including medical devices, augmented/virtual reality-based software solutions, material processing operations, control systems, integrated circuits, machine learning-based financial services software, media and mobile technology, semiconductor devices and fabrication, and secondary batteries. His academic background, including a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, provided a foundation in energy harvesting technologies and semiconductor physics relevant to IoT and medical applications.

Dr. Teran is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and is admitted to practice in Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida.
