Company profile

Krisp Technologies, Inc. is a private, venture-backed company that develops and sells artificial intelligence-powered voice technology. Founded in 2017 by Davit Baghdasaryan and Artavazd Minasyan, the company is headquartered in Berkeley, California. Krisp has raised a total of $15.5 million in funding through its Series A stage from investors including Sierra Ventures and Storm Ventures. The company employs between 200 and 400 people.

Krisp is an operating company whose main products are designed to improve the clarity and productivity of digital conversations. Its technology platform offers features like real-time, bi-directional noise cancellation, echo removal, accent conversion, live transcription, and meeting summaries. The company packages this technology into several product lines: an "AI Meeting Assistant" for individuals and teams that integrates with conferencing apps like Zoom and Microsoft Teams, a "Call Center AI" platform with features for agent assistance, and an SDK for developers to embed the voice AI into their own applications. All audio processing happens locally on the user's device.

The company's patent litigation posture is that of an active operating company in a dispute with a direct competitor. With one case as a plaintiff and one as a defendant, both against the same adversary, Krisp is not a patent assertion entity. The litigation is taking place in the Northern District of California and at the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), conventional venues for technology company disputes.

Both of Krisp's tracked litigation cases are against competitor Sanas.AI Inc. and concern AI-driven accent conversion technology. In July 2025, Sanas.AI sued Krisp in federal court, alleging patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation. Sanas.AI claimed that Krisp developed a "copycat" version of its accent translation technology using confidential information shared under a non-disclosure agreement during partnership discussions. Krisp later challenged Sanas.AI's patents by filing a case at the PTAB in March 2026.
