CommScope Technologies LLC

CommScope Technologies LLC is a U.S. subsidiary of CommScope Holding Company, Inc., a network-infrastructure group founded in 1976 in Hickory, North Carolina and incorporated in Delaware in 2010. The parent went public on Nasdaq (COMM) in October 2013, moved its headquarters to Claremont, N.C. in 2023 and to Richardson, Texas in November 2025. Its FY2024 Form 10-K reports roughly 20,000 employees worldwide and net sales of $4.21 billion. After Amphenol's January 2026 acquisition of CommScope's Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) segment, the remaining parent company adopted the name Vistance Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: VISN), per company announcements and Wikipedia.

It is an operating company, not an NPE. CommScope designs and manufactures network infrastructure: fiber and copper connectivity and cabling for carrier, data-center and enterprise networks; structured-cabling systems (SYSTIMAX, NETCONNECT); Ruckus Wi-Fi and switching products; outdoor wireless antennas, small cells and DAS; and broadband access equipment (CCAP, DOCSIS, PON/OLT). Customers are telecom operators, cable MSOs, data-center operators and enterprises. The 2024 10-K reports over 11,000 patents and patent applications.

Litigation posture is defensive. In the tracked data it appears once, as a defendant (0 plaintiff cases, 1 defendant case), grouped with parent and ARRIS affiliates in CommWorks Solutions, LLC v. CommScope Holding Company, Inc. et al., No. 2:23-cv-00510, filed November 3, 2023 in the Eastern District of Texas before Judge Rodney Gilstrap — a venue favored by patent plaintiffs. Plaintiff CommWorks Solutions is a Georgia-based NPE (a subsidiary of IP Investments Group/Brainbox Innovations) asserting seven acquired patents covering optical access network/OLT and Wi-Fi provisioning/QoS technology against CommScope's XP6164S FLX OLT and the Arris NVG468MQ gateway.

That case ended by joint motion and was dismissed with prejudice in 2024; the public record shows no merits ruling or disclosed settlement terms. CommWorks has filed similar suits against Comcast, Charter, Extreme Networks and STMicroelectronics, and Unified Patents has challenged several of its patents at the PTAB. CommScope entities have also been targeted by other NPEs, including TQ Delta, Cobblestone Wireless and Bell Northern Research.
