Ceiva Logic, Inc.

CEIVA Logic, Inc. ("CEIVA") is a privately held consumer-electronics company headquartered at 303 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Suite 200, Burbank, California. It was founded in 1999–2000 by former Disney executives Paul Yanover and Dean Schiller. PitchBook lists it as private, revenue-generating, and backed historically by an accelerator and a 2000 corporate round, with a private secondary transaction in 2023. No authoritative headcount or revenue figure is disclosed; third-party estimates vary widely (roughly 16–99 employees and low-single-digit-millions to ~$22M revenue), so no reliable size band can be confirmed.

Products / operations. CEIVA is an operating company, not a shell licensor. It developed and sold the Ceiva Internet-connected digital photo frame (marketed as a "Digital Photo Receiver"), which automatically dials or connects to a server to download and display photos without a computer, along with photo-frame accessories and a subscription service (PicturePlan) that delivers images to the frame. The company sold direct and through Amazon.com under a March 2000 exclusive resale agreement.

Patent-litigation posture. The tracked data show one case, with CEIVA as plaintiff and zero as defendant — consistent with a small operating company enforcing its own inventions rather than a high-volume patent assertor. The court dismissed for lack of subject-matter jurisdiction after CEIVA Logic admitted it did not own the patents — affiliate Ceiva OpCo LLC did. The district court granted summary judgment of §101 ineligibility; the Federal Circuit (July 23, 2026, nonprecedential) affirmed as to the '930/'656/'562 claims but reversed as to '573 claim 19 and remanded.
