Centripetal sued Palo Alto Networks asserting 13 patents, including 10,785,266. The case was tried to verdict; the court granted Palo Alto Networks' post-trial motion for judgment as a matter of law in part, denied it in part, denied a new trial motion, and recorded the case as dismissed in part on October 3, 2024.

Centripetal Networks, LLC (sued as Centripetal Networks, Inc.) sued Palo Alto Networks asserting 13 patents, including '49906. A jury awarded about $151.1 million on other patents, but not '49906; post-trial, the court granted Palo Alto judgment as a matter of law of non-infringement on the '437 patent and reduced the award. Post-judgment proceedings and Centripetal's Federal Circuit appeal were ongoing.

Palo Alto petitioned for inter partes review challenging all claims 1–20 of US10091246. The Board instituted review and, in a Final Written Decision, found the challenged claims unpatentable. Centripetal appealed to the Federal Circuit.
