Sagent Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (marketed as SagentPharma®) is a specialty generic-drug manufacturer founded in 2006 and headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. It is privately held. Sagent was publicly traded on NASDAQ from its 2011 IPO until 2016, when Japan's Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical acquired it for roughly $736 million. Nichi-Iko sold the business in 2023 to Ellimist Singapore Pte. Ltd., an entity controlled by former Gland Pharma promoter Ravi Penmetsa; a 2025 PitchBook entry lists a further acquisition.
