Lenovo Holding Co., Inc. (LHCI) is a Delaware-incorporated holding company with offices at 1009 Think Place / 8001 Development Drive, Morrisville, North Carolina. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenovo Group Limited (HKEX: 992; ADR: LNVGY), the Chinese multinational technology group founded in 1984 by engineers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and headquartered in Beijing and Hong Kong, with an operational headquarters in Morrisville. Lenovo Group reports roughly 73,500 employees and revenue in the US$69 billion range for FY2024/25 (per its filings and FT/WSJ company profiles). LHCI itself is a small US holding/support entity — third-party business directories list headcount in the tens and revenue in the low hundreds of millions, though those figures are unverified and should be treated as approximate.
Operations. Lenovo Group designs, manufactures and sells PCs, tablets and smartphones (ThinkPad, IdeaPad, Legion, Motorola), servers, storage and IT services (ThinkSystem, TruScale infrastructure solutions), and related devices and services sold in roughly 180 markets. LHCI functions as part of the US corporate structure for those operations rather than as an independent product company.
Litigation posture. The database shows LHCI as a defendant in one case and a plaintiff in none — the profile of an operating company being attacked rather than an asserter. That single suit was filed in the District of Delaware, not a plaintiff-friendly venue such as the Eastern District of Texas, and Lenovo is one of several unrelated hardware vendors named in a coordinated campaign.
Notable case. Delaware Display Group LLC et al. v. Lenovo Group Ltd. et al., No. 1:13-cv-02108 (D. Del., filed Dec. 31, 2013), assigned to Judge Richard G. Andrews, named Lenovo Group Ltd., LHCI and Lenovo (United States) Inc. Plaintiffs were two Acacia Research subsidiaries asserting light-emitting-panel/backlight and light-redirecting-film patents (e.g., 6,755,547; 7,537,370; 7,914,196) that originated with Rambus and were transferred to Acacia in March 2013. The same day, plaintiffs filed six companion suits against Amazon, HTC, LG, Pantech, Sony and VIZIO. Lenovo's accused products were LCD laptops, desktops and tablets; several patents were later dropped and challenged in inter partes review.
