HEB Grocery Company, LP is a privately held American supermarket chain headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1905 by Florence Butt, the company is majority-owned by the Butt family, with employees holding a minority stake. Commonly known as H-E-B, it is one of the largest private companies in the U.S., operating more than 435 stores in Texas and Mexico. In 2024, H-E-B reported revenues of $46.5 billion and employed approximately 154,000 people.
