Deye ESS Technology USA

Deye ESS Technology USA Inc. (Chinese: 德业储能科技（美国）有限公司) is the U.S. arm of Ningbo Deye ESS Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ningbo Deye Technology Co., Ltd. ("Deye"), a Shanghai Stock Exchange–listed group (SH: 605117). The U.S. entity is a Delaware corporation with a place of business at 215 N Sunset Ave, City of Industry, California, per the complaint filed against it. The parent traces to a Ningbo, Zhejiang manufacturer founded around 2000, listed in April 2021; founder Zhang Hejun's family holds roughly 60% of voting rights. Deye's 2025 revenue was RMB 12.22 billion, with H1 2026 revenue of RMB 10.64 billion and net profit of RMB 2.72 billion; its market capitalization was about RMB 123 billion as of August 2026. A third-party data aggregator lists the U.S. entity as founded in 2024 with 1–10 employees, an estimate not confirmed by Deye.

Operations. The group sells solar-plus-storage hardware, not services: energy storage inverters (residential and commercial/industrial), string and micro-inverters, LFP storage battery packs, and PV-BESS-EV charging systems, alongside legacy environmental appliances (dehumidifiers, solar air conditioners, heat exchangers). Frost & Sullivan data cited in its Hong Kong listing filing rank Deye first globally in residential energy storage inverter revenue for 2025. The U.S. entity markets these ESS and micro-inverter lines in North America.

Litigation posture. This is an operating company being attacked, not an assertion vehicle. The tracked docket shows 0 cases as plaintiff and 1 as defendant. The single suit sits in the Central District of California, not a plaintiff-friendly Texas venue.

Notable case. CyboEnergy, Inc. v. Deye ESS Technology USA et al., No. 2:25-cv-07964 (C.D. Cal., filed Aug. 22, 2025), also named Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Co., Ltd. Plaintiff CyboEnergy asserted U.S. Patents 8,786,133 and 9,331,488 against Deye's SUN600G3–SUN2000G3 micro-inverters. CyboEnergy states in its complaint that it is a practicing entity (maker of the CyboInverter, holding 13 U.S. patents); Unified Patents' PATROLL program, by contrast, lists CyboEnergy as an NPE and has solicited prior art on the '488 patent, which CyboEnergy has also asserted against Home Depot, Duracell, Yotta Energy, Hoymiles, and APsystems. The Deye case was voluntarily dismissed without prejudice on Dec. 12, 2025. No merits findings were made.
