Company profile

Coolpad Group Limited (SEHK: 2369; brand "coolpad" / 酷派; formerly China Wireless Technologies Limited) is a Cayman Islands–incorporated, Hong Kong–listed consumer electronics group headquartered at Coolpad Information Harbor, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, China. Its operating predecessor, Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., was founded in 1993 (as a pager maker, moving to mobile phones in 2002); the Cayman holding company listed on the HKEX in 2004 and was renamed Coolpad Group Limited in January 2014. It was briefly controlled by Jia Yueting's LeEco, which exited its stake in January 2018. It remains public, with a market capitalization around HK$230 million. FY2025 revenue was approximately HK$273 million (down about 45% year over year), with a net loss of roughly HK$111 million and 88 employees at year-end 2025 per its annual report (third-party data providers show higher headcount figures).

Products and operations. Coolpad develops, manufactures and sells smartphones and related devices (recent models include the Cool 20, Cool 20 Pro and Cool 20s), plus tablets, audio equipment and personal-care appliances, and provides wireless application services and handset design/software development. Its reported segments are Mobile Phone, Property Investment (rental of investment properties including the Coolpad Information Harbor site) and, more recently, a Cryptocurrencies business; mobile phones contributed about 52% of 2025 revenue. It states a going-concern emphasis given net current liabilities.

Litigation posture. Coolpad is an operating company, not an NPE. In our tracked data it appears as a defendant in 1 case and as plaintiff in 0 — the profile of a company defending against patent assertion, not asserting patents. The single tracked suit, Fundamental Innovation Systems International LLC v. Coolpad Group Limited (2:20-cv-00117, E.D. Tex., filed April 2020), was brought by FISI, a Delaware NPE backed by private-equity firm Centerbridge Partners that acquired former BlackBerry USB-charging and power-management patents and has sued Apple, Samsung, Huawei, LG, ZTE, Lenovo, TCL and others. Plaintiff-friendly E.D. Tex. venues are standard in that campaign. Public dockets also show later E.D. Tex. NPE suits against Coolpad (e.g., Crystal Mountain Communications, 2024; e-Beacon LLC, 2025), which fall outside our tracked dataset.
