Correspondent registry
Correspondents.
Every attorney or firm recorded with USPTO when an assignment was filed on a tracked US patent. The correspondent is the most useful tell when assignee LLCs look anonymous — shell chains commonly share one repeat-player attorney even when the LLC names are designed to look unrelated. Click any correspondent for the full asserter list and co-located associates.
How to read this registry
When a patent changes hands, the new owner records the transfer with the USPTO, and the attorney who files it is logged as the correspondent. Patent trolls constantly rename their shell LLCs to look unrelated — but the lawyer who files the paperwork usually doesn’t change. So one repeat-player correspondent, or one shared mailing address, is often the thread that ties a swarm of ostensibly-separate shells back to a single operator: the “47 LLCs all filed by one attorney at one Plano, TX address” pattern. Two views build on this table: Behind the shells (who owns the shells) and Co-location clusters (attorneys sharing an address).
- Asserters
- Distinct assignee entities (the LLCs / NPEs) this attorney recorded patents for. The headline signal — a high count is a repeat player servicing many entities.
- Patents
- Distinct patents touched across all of their recordings.
- Recordings
- Total assignment filings this correspondent appears on.
- Addresses
- Distinct mailing addresses seen. Shared addresses across different attorneys surface on the clusters page.
