Weining Bai

Weining Bai is a trial lawyer at Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing (AZA), specializing in intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. His patent litigation practice spans a diverse range of technologies, including high-definition speech coding, HD Voice technology, fracking proppant storage and delivery, and automatic content recognition data processing. Notable successes include helping secure a $78.5 million jury verdict against Samsung for patent infringement related to automatic content recognition data processing technology. He also played a key role in the international enforcement and licensing of high-definition speech coding patents, managing over 25 cases in China, where his client prevailed in more than a dozen validity challenges before the Patent Re-Examination Board (China's equivalent of the PTAB). Furthermore, he secured favorable claim construction rulings for a hydraulic fracturing company, leading to a plaintiff's stipulation of non-infringement and a favorable settlement.

Mr. Bai earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as associate blog editor of The Penn Intellectual Property Group. He also holds undergraduate degrees, magna cum laude, in physics engineering and economics from Washington and Lee University. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas.
