Stephanie Adamakos

Stephanie Adamakos is an associate in the Patent Litigation practice at Paul Hastings, based in Washington, D.C.. Her practice encompasses litigation in federal courts, at both the district court and appellate levels, and proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the International Trade Commission (ITC). She handles cases involving a diverse array of technologies, including jet turbine engines, surgical instruments, alarm systems, and solar/photovoltaic cells.

While her tracked appearances show a focus on plaintiff-side representation, including Mundra Solar v. First Solar, Inc. where she served as pro hac vice counsel for the plaintiff, her broader experience includes representing patent owners in infringement actions, as well as petitioners challenging patent validity. For example, she represented Altria Client Services as a patent owner in district court litigation that resulted in a $95 million jury award for patent infringement, which was later affirmed on appeal, and secured favorable settlements for Altria Client Services and Vivint.com in other patent disputes. Conversely, she represented General Electric Company as a petitioner in an inter partes review (IPR) before the PTAB, which led to the disclaimer or invalidation of all 36 challenged claims.

Her practice includes significant experience before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, particularly in IPR and other post-grant proceedings. In the Mundra Solar matter, her client, Mundra Solar, was involved in IPR applications challenging First Solar's TOPCon crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar cell patents, although these applications were ultimately denied by the USPTO.

Ms. Adamakos is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and the Massachusetts Bar. She is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court. She earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2019 and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, received in 2016.
