Sidharth Kapoor

Sidharth Kapoor is a patent litigator with a strong focus on intellectual property disputes involving complex technologies. His practice encompasses computer-implemented technologies, AI-driven inventions, and medical devices, where he advises clients ranging from startups to industry leaders. He assists with patent portfolio development, freedom-to-operate assessments, patentability evaluations, and prosecution of patent applications, alongside strategic counseling on post-grant proceedings.

Kapoor primarily represents defendants in patent litigation, having appeared twice on the defendant side in tracked cases. His experience includes defending clients in significant matters, such as representing Keysight Technologies in an Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceeding against Centripetal Networks, LLC. This PTAB challenge contributed to the invalidation of a network-security patent that had been central to a vacated $1.9 billion district court verdict against Cisco. He has also served as counsel for patent owners in IPR proceedings, demonstrating experience across different facets of post-grant review.

He was formerly with Reed Smith LLP, where his tracked cases occurred, and joined Pierson Ferdinand LLP as a partner in October 2024. His professional background also includes prior experience at Harness, Dickey & Pierce P.L.C. and serving as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Sidharth Kapoor is admitted to practice in California and New Jersey, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2013, and holds an M.Sc. (2009) and B.Sc. (2008) from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
