Sean O'Kelly

Sean T. O'Kelly is a patent litigation attorney at O'Kelly & O'Rourke, LLC, where he specializes in intellectual property and commercial litigation. His practice encompasses a diverse range of technology areas, grounded in a background as a Lead Structural Engineer at Boeing, working on commercial aircraft and defense programs. In significant outcomes, Zaxcom secured legal victories at the USPTO in September 2025, where the PTAB ruled in Zaxcom's favor by denying institution of one IPR and entirely dismissing another challenge against U.S. Patent No. 7,929,902.

Academically, Mr. O'Kelly earned a B.S. in Engineering and a B.A. from the University of Connecticut, followed by an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He obtained his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He is admitted to practice and has appeared before all judges in the District of Delaware, as well as in Delaware's Chancery and Superior Courts and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bench. Prior to co-founding O'Kelly & O'Rourke, LLC, he was a partner at O'Kelly & Ernst, LLC and Cross & Simon, and an attorney in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell.
