Samuel J. LaRoque

Samuel J. LaRoque, Ph.D., is a patent litigation attorney at Robins Kaplan LLP, focusing his practice on intellectual property counseling and litigation. His technical expertise spans a diverse array of technologies, including wireless communications, medical devices, computer hardware and software, internet technologies, X-ray imaging, and LCD display technology. Prior to his legal career, Dr. LaRoque worked at Robins Kaplan as a registered patent agent and senior scientist.

Dr. LaRoque primarily represents plaintiffs in patent infringement disputes, demonstrating a consistent track record of securing substantial outcomes for his clients. He served as lead counsel in notable matters such as Longitude Licensing Limited et al. v. BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. et al. in the Eastern District of Texas, where he was part of the trial team that secured a $66.9 million jury verdict in January 2026 for willful infringement of three LCD display patents. He also contributed to achieving a $467 million settlement for the University of Pennsylvania in April 2025 related to COVID-19 vaccine technology.
