Salvatore P. Tamburo

Salvatore P. Tamburo is a seasoned patent litigator at DLA Piper, with over 27 years of experience in intellectual property disputes. His practice focuses on a broad range of technologies, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related innovations. Specifically, he handles cases involving Wi-Fi and cellular communications systems, high-performance computing, semiconductor products, graphical user interface technologies, DRAM and NAND memory devices, network security systems, and various medical devices.

While Mr. Tamburo has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent matters, his tracked appearances and professional profile indicate a primary focus on defending accused infringers. Mr. Tamburo is also experienced in post-grant proceedings, having successfully represented clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in both inter partes reviews and reexaminations. He notably represented Samsung as petitioners in an Inter Partes Review related to a Maxell patent. He earned his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 1998 and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
