S. Lara Ameri

S. Lara Ameri is a patent litigation attorney at Ropes & Gray, where her practice encompasses a broad range of intellectual property disputes. She handles patent, copyright, trademark, false advertising, trade secret, and contract matters, representing clients across diverse technology sectors. Her experience includes cases involving wireless technology and telecommunications, e-commerce, software, retail, pharmaceuticals, and data storage. Ameri has also contributed to discussions on emerging IP issues, co-authoring an article on the impact of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on intellectual property rights.

Ameri primarily represents defendants in patent litigation. Her notable experience includes serving as lead counsel for Apple Inc. in MYW Semitech, LLC v. Apple Inc., a case involving patent infringement claims related to three patents. In this litigation, the district court case was administratively closed and stayed pending the final resolution of inter partes review (IPR) proceedings concerning the asserted patents, reflecting a successful defense strategy.
