Richard T. McCaulley, Jr. is an experienced patent litigator focusing on complex patent, trade secret, and antitrust disputes. His practice frequently involves pharmaceutical and medical device matters, including Hatch-Waxman/ANDA litigation, leveraging his background in biomedical engineering. He also represents clients in high-tech industries, handling technologies such as digital displays, variable data printing, and wireless communication protocols. Mr. McCaulley primarily defends operating companies, as evidenced by his tracked defendant-side appearance and representation of major pharmaceutical companies like AstraZeneca and Pfizer, as well as technology firms such as AT&T Mobility.

Mr. McCaulley is a co-founder and partner at McCaulley Law Group. Prior to establishing McCaulley Law Group, he was a partner at HG LLP, where he led the IP litigation practice in San Jose, CA, and previously served as a founding partner at McCaulley Dowell LLP and Chair of the IP Litigation Practice at Ropes & Gray LLP.
