Renee M. Griffin

Renee M. Griffin is an attorney whose patent litigation practice focused on complex disputes within the pharmaceutical and biologics sectors. While an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP, her work primarily involved representing plaintiffs in cases brought under the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act (BPCIA).

Ms. Griffin's notable experience includes representing Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in significant patent infringement lawsuits concerning aflibercept (EYLEA®). She was counsel in Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. et al. (N.D. W. Va.), where a court opinion in December 2023 found infringement of U.S. Patent No. 11,084,865 and upheld its validity. She also served as lead counsel for Regeneron in Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. Celltrion, Inc. (N.D. W. Va.), a related BPCIA action that was reported as closed in July 2024 with a reported settlement in October 2025. While her cases involved patents that were subject to IPR proceedings, her primary role in these matters was in district court litigation.

Ms. Griffin earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2021 and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame (2017). She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. Currently, Ms. Griffin is a Staff Attorney at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, focusing on media law.
